Scope: Pre-matric → Post-matric, UG, PG, category-based schemes (central + many state links)
Official portal that aggregates and accepts applications for a wide variety of scholarship schemes run by central government ministries and many state governments — includes pre-matric, post-matric, merit scholarships, SC/ST/OBC/EBC/minority schemes, and central sector schemes. Use NSP to find and apply for both central and many state scholarship programs.
2) National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS)
Level: School — transition Class VIII → IX
Scholarship for meritorious students from economically weaker sections to prevent drop-out after Class VIII. Eligibility is determined by academic performance (Class VII marks) and parental/guardian income ceiling. Administered by Department of School Education & Literacy; applied through state/UT nodal authorities or NSP where applicable.
3) Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students (CSSS)
Level: Post-Class XII → Undergraduate (UG)
Merit-based scholarship for students who have completed Class XII and are progressing to undergraduate programs; targeted to meritorious students from economically weaker sections. 6) UGC — Junior Research Fellowship (UGC-NET JRF) & research funding
Level: MPhil/PhD / Eligibility for Assistant Professor
Qualifying the UGC-NET (conducted by National Testing Agency — NTA) can award candidates a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), which includes a stipend and support during PhD studies, or eligibility for Assistant Professor positions. 7) CSIR-UGC NET (JRF)
